Michael R. Buck - The Dead Poet is a book of selected poems that I wrote over the years. My life of being an alcoholic and a life of death and heartbreaks, not being there for my daughters, and death, my life has always been full of ups and downs, mostly down. And I bring the pain out in my poems to help me live through this personal hell. Some poems are fiction, but for the most they all depict my life.

This book of poems is darker than most books of poetry that I normally read, but no darker than a lot of the suspense and thriller novels I read. Anyone who likes dark poetry and understands the darkness of addictions will understand from where the author comes. Even with them being dark there were 4 that connected with me. "I've Said Words" is one that all can relate to as it deals with words spoken to one's mother. "Forgive Me" tells of a father's regrets. "Wide Open" reflects on the writer's past and being unable to recognize them self. "I Got Lost" recognizes how as a child one strives to be like their parent and somehow along the way they get turned around and don't find their way back.
Good read, you can feel the pain in your soul.
